When clicking on an attachment, it is opened by Adobe Acrobat but throws the error  "The file is corrupt and cannot be repaired."

This is happening because there are inconsistencies between Adobe Acrobat Reader and your browser.

1. First try using Google Chrome browser and try to open the attachment.  If it works, no need to make any other changes.

2. If you are using Internet Explorer, follow these steps to open a PDF in your browser.
